Obituary for Caleb Dain Landry
Caleb Dain Landry, age 33, passed away February 15, 2021 in a hospital in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Caleb was born August 1, 1987, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Phillip and Lori Landry. He went to First Assembly Christian Academy kindergarten through sixth grade and graduated from Leesville High School in 2005. He studied International Business in Stellenbosch, South Africa through a program while attending Fort Lewis College School of Business. He received his degree in 2009. He was employed by Workstrings International in Broussard, Louisiana where he was an International Project Coordinator.
Caleb could accomplish anything he set his mind to. He taught himself to play golf when he was nine. He loved the game, and it became his passion. He spent hours on the golf course, where he created a beautiful golf swing admired by many. He was on the Leesville High School golf team, the Fort Lewis College golf team and placed in numerous tournaments. He won longest drive contests, and many other awards. On September 30, 2006, he made a hole in one at the Wetlands Golf Course in Lafayette.
He loved spending time outdoors, and he especially loved hunting with his family and friends. Caleb, his brother, and dad hunted all over the United States, Canada, Africa, Nicaragua, and most recently Mexico.
Caleb was a very generous person. He said his purpose here on earth was to help others. He performed many acts of kindness every day. He loved mankind. One of his favorite quotes is “Kindness is the language that allows the blind to see, and the deaf to hear.”
By far his greatest accomplishment is his daughter Elizabeth Ann “Ellie” Landry. He was a kind, gentle, loving father.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, James Dorman Johnson and Sybil Goins Johnson.
He is survived by his parents, Phillip and Lori Landry, daughter, Elizabeth “Ellie” Ann Landry,
sister, Katelyn LeAnn Landry, brother, Luke Aaron Landry, niece, Emma Kate Landry,
grandparents, Mike and Virginia Landry of Oakdale, several loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and a host of friends.
