Obituary for Brenda Gail Brannon
Funeral services for Brenda Gail Brannon will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 17, 2023, at Walnut Hill United Pentecostal Church with Reverends Dale and Greg Mortensen officiating. The burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. The pallbearers will be Chance Roberson, Gage Botts, Christian Derrick, Jarod Brannon, Jacobie Brannon, and Tony Ray.
A visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service.
Brenda was born September 12, 1952, in Leesville, Louisiana and passed away March 15, 2023, at the age of 70. She had the heart of a true caregiver and loved people, children, and Jesus. For a time, she owned a daycare and also cared for children in her home. Brenda’s dogs held a special place in her heart, and she loved many kinds of animals including squirrels, deer, and birds. It was easy for her to see the good in people and her friendly nature meant that she never met a stranger. Her family meant the most to her, and she showed them what it is to be a fighter as she tenaciously fought COPD for many years.
Brenda was preceded in death by her parents, Gill Roy McDonald and Loraine Hall McDonald and siblings, Doris Jeane, Roger McDonald, and Sharon McDonald.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 52 years, Charley Brannon of Bossier City, LA;
son, Christopher Brannon of Bossier City, LA;
daughters, Christina Derrick and husband Christian of Shreveport, LA and Crystal Brannon of Bossier City, LA;
grandchildren, Chance Roberson, Jarod Brannon, Jacobie Brannon, Gage Botts, and Kyle Jones II;
great-grandchildren, Aleysia Smith, and Jaisley Renee Brannon;
sister-in-law, Gwen McDonald of La Salle, TX;
and a host of extended family members.
