Obituary for Bobbie Jean Funderburk
Services for Mrs. Bobbie Jean Greer Funderburk of Slagle will be held at the Slagle Baptist Church on Monday, March 31, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. With Dr. Glen Cooley officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Leesville under the care of Jeane's Funeral Service. Visitation will be held Sunday, March 29, 2014 from 6:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. at Slagle Baptist Church Mrs. Funderburk was born in Sabine Parish on January 19, 1930, and passed away March 27, 2014 in Leesville, Louisiana. She was a life-long resident of Slagle and a member of Slagle Baptist Church. Mrs. Funderburk was married to W.H. Funderburk for 56 years prior to his death in 2002. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed by family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband W.H. Funderburk; her parents Lottie Mae Greer and Russell W. Greer; seven sisters; Mae Lewis, Dale Marr, Elmer Funderburk, Imogene "Bo" Lindsey, Margaret Brady, Myrtle Hinson, and Lurline Vallade. Left to cherish her memory are: Two daughters, Glenda Dowden (Garry) of Slagle and Diane Harkins (James) of Port Allen; one son, Jimmy Funderburk (Sonja);of Slagle Grandchildren, Kim Hopkins, Dr. Jason Funderburk, Shonda Boudet, Stacy Gray, Regina Prince, Dr. Heather Harkins Barroso and 14 great-grandchildren who she cherished. Pallbearers will be: Mack Hinson, Louis Massie, Bryan Boudet, Rocky Gray, Juan Barroso, Chris Prince and honorary pallbearer, Dr. Jason Funderburk. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The family would like to express a special appreciation to Dr. Greggory Lord and his staff and to Mary Davis and Marylyn Jeane for their care of our mother.
