Obituary for Billy "Butch" Brown Lewis
Billy “Butch” Brown Lewis was born December 17, 1949 in Leesville, LA and passed away at his home in Simpson, LA on May 22, 2021 at the age of 71. He graduated from Simpson High School and worked on pipelines as a fitter helper for 37 years. During that time, Butch worked all over the United States and made many lifelong friends. He enjoyed tinkering and building things at home and loved animals.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac Reed Lewis and Florida Louise Stanly Lewis.
Those left to cherish his memory are his brother, Donald Reed Lewis and wife Nancy of Pawhuska, OK;
uncle, Rose Daniel Lewis of Temple, LA;
aunt, Joy Portie of Lake Charles, LA;
nieces, Donna Lynn Hale and Jennifer Walden of Arlington, TX;
nephew, Mark “Dusty” Arlen Lewis of Lebanon, PA;
cousin, Martha Blackwell of Simpson, LA;
and a host of extended family, friends, and classmates whom he had kept in touch with throughout the years.
The Lewis Family wishes to express a special thanks to Ms. Jimmy Reese McRae and Amy; Dale and Janell Albritton and their sons, Isaac and Zachary; Terry Bennett and family; Shelton Bennett and family; James Masburn III and family; Bud and Roxie Dube and family; and all his friends in the Simpson Community.
Ms. Jimmy Reese and Amy were with Butch on November 26, 2019 at Rapides General ICU when Butch accepted our Lord and Savior. Donald Reed and Nancy along with Uncle Daniel can rejoice knowing he has gone home to be with Uncle Reed and Aunt Florida in his final resting place.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 25, 2022, in Pine Island Cemetery in Simpson.
