Obituary for Betty Jo Parker

Funeral services for Betty Jo Parker will be held on Sunday, November 20, 2022, at Pine Hill Baptist Church, at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 19, 2022, at Pine Hill Baptist Church from 5:00PM-9:00PM and again on Sunday from 9:00AM until time of service.

Betty Jo Parker was born on December 30, 1931, to Noel Albert Alexander and Annie Thomas Alexander in Vivian, LA. She passed away on November 17, 2022, in Leesville, LA at the age of 90. She married the love of her life, Willie Emerson Parker on July 12, 1947, and they enjoyed many wonderful years together raising their family. Betty was a true homemaker that loved to cook for everyone and for her family to all be together. She had such a sweet spirit and was an excellent caretaker. She enjoyed taking her family down to the creek for a picnic and to fish, as well doing her word search books and watching “Days of Our Lives” and “Wheel of Fortune”. She was a long-time member of Pine Hill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Willie Emerson Parker, and daughter, Carolyn Sue Porter.

She is survived by her children, Willie Dale Parker, Cheryl Diane Sheppard, James David “Jimmy” Parker and wife Suzanne, Terry Lynn Parker and wife Laya, Dennis Lee Parker, Roy Neal Parker and wife Michelle, and Elizabeth Ann “Missy” Creasey and husband Greg all of Leesville;

brother, James Alexander of Sun City Center, FL;

grandchildren, Angela, Melinda, Michelle, Clay, Clifton, Jeremy, Jennifer, James David Jr., Jason, Sarah, Jacob, Terry Lynn, Emily, Melonie, Jessica, Cole, Chad, Savanna, Magen, Jordan, and Matthew;

28 great grandchildren, and 11 great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Parker, Clay Sheppard, Jacob Parker, Terry Lynn Parker, Cole Parker, Jeremy Porter, and Matthew Creasey.

Honorary pallbearer will be Daelin Parker. The family asks that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
