Obituary for Betty Doris Usry Franklin
Funeral services for Betty Doris Usry Franklin will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 6, 2020 at Hornbeck Full Gospel Church with Reverend Buddy Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in Self Cemetery in Hornbeck under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. A visitation will be held at the church on Thursday, November 5th starting at 5:00 p.m. and will continue until the time of service on Friday.
Betty was born June 19, 1945 and passed away October 31, 2020 at the age of 75. She was a native of Alabama but lived in Mississippi for most of her life. For the past 25 years, she lived in Decatur, Mississippi. Betty was a homemaker and loved her pet dogs and solving crossword puzzles. Most of all, she loved being a mother and grandmother.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, George Franklin; parents, Robert and Lula Mae Usry; and grandson, Steven Franklin.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Ben Rainer Jr. (JoAnn) of De Kalb, TX; Robert Rainer of Holopaw, FL; and Charles Rainer (Jennifer) of De Kalb, TX,
daughters, Ann Cook (John) of De Kalb, TX; Lisa Martin (David) of Decatur, MS; Anna Salyers (Pat) of Ashford, AL; and Beckie Laurence (Odis) of Toro, LA,
brothers, Ernest Usry of Union, MS and Bob Usry of Cuba, AL,
sister, Bat Shaw of Cuba, AL,
twenty grandchildren, twenty-seven great grandchildren, and a host of extended family.
