It comes with great sadness as the family of Bennie Joe Maddox announces his passing on June, 1, 2024.
As a true country soul through and through, Bennie was often to be found either tending to his animals or in the woods camping or fishing. Riding his horse or sitting on a quiet riverbank with a pole in hand was his absolute serenity. With his career as a logger and being an avid animal lover, he would bring home countless squirrels and even once a baby deer for his children to raise and love as their own. He wasn’t always outdoors though, as he was also a huge Marvel comics fan and lover of the corniest creature feature films.
Bennie was truly the best family man, spending most his days ensuring to make the most of his time with his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. With his big heart he would also be the first to give the shirt off his back to anyone in need, to which he found a profound pleasure in almost as much as fishing.
Left to cherish his memory is daughter Michelle Hood and fiancé Tony of Leesville, LA, son Kenneth “Bubba” Williams and wife Ginger of Iowa, LA, son Jason Maddox and wife Melody of Mountainview, AR, daughter Jennifer Maddox and fiancé Gage of Mountainview, AR, daughter Angela Shepard and husband Kevin of Ft. Worth, TX, daughter, Angela Stephends and husband Billy of Merryville, LA, brother Davey Maddox of Deridder, LA, along with 24 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
