Obituary for Barbara Jean Plummer
Funeral services for Barbara Jean Hilton Plummer will be held on Friday, September 13, 2019, 10:00 AM at the First United Pentecostal Church in Leesville. Rev. Mark Christian, Bill Pittman, Jr., and Jeffrey Pittman will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Mitchell Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2019, from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM at First United Pentecostal Church in Leesville.
Barbara Jean Hilton Plummer was born on April 8, 1942, at Frasier Hospital in Many, LA to Preston (PW) and Ouida Hilton. She passed away on September 8, 2019, in Leesville, LA at the age of 77. She worked at Ft. Polk for 35 years in accounting. Ms. Jeane loved to talk and to be surrounded by those she loved while socializing. Her love language was gift giving and online shopping as well as QVC were a great outlet for her passion. If she found an item she really liked, she made sure to buy extras for herself and others. She was gifted in music and enjoyed playing the piano. Her love of music kept her out late on Saturday nights as she attended many concerts and gospel singings. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Lewis Plummer, parents, PW and Ouida Hilton, and an infant sister.
She is survived by her son, Douglas Plummer and wife Lori of Anacoco, LA
Sister: Rose and husband Larry Bruce of Leesville, LA
Grandchildren: Kaitlyn and husband Stephen Briscoe, of Anacoco, LA, and Lindsay and husband Austin McCurry of New Orleans, LA
Great grandchildren: Sawyer and Cecelia Briscoe, soon to be born
Nephews: Ethan Bruce of Leesville and Donald and wife Marla Beavers of Anacoco, LA
Daughter by choice: Kathy Hooper of Toro Community
