Obituary for Barbara Ann Poe Andrews
Barbara Ann Poe Andrews, formerly of the Hicks/Leesville Community, passed away Friday, March 4, 2022, at Baton Rouge General Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Richard and Bobbie Poe and the wife of the late George W. Andrews Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Christy Jo Andrews Millien (Jay) of Addis, LA;
son, William Casey Andrews of Plaquemine, LA;
sister, Cindy Poe Boswell (Deborah McGee);
uncle, Edgar Poe (Donna) of Pineville, LA;
aunts, Faith Poe and Marion Poe;
beloved grandchildren, Hunter and Hayden Millien of Addis, LA;
special cousin, Beth Poe;
special sister-in-law, Janice Andrews of Anacoco, LA;
and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Barbara was known by many different names to friends and family. She was called Barbara, Barbara Ann, Barbie, Nana, Aunt Barbara, Barbara Jean, and Aunt B. She always had a good heart, beautiful smile, and a hug for everyone. She would help anyone, even in her own times of need. She never met a stranger and always had time to listen to anyone. She was truly an Angel on Earth!
A special thank you is extended to the care team at Baton Rouge General Hospital, who treated her with love and respect as that is what they got from her. They truly treated her as family. The family would also like to offer sincere gratitude for the donations, prayers, and messages sent by all of Barbara’s friends and family. Our gratitude is immeasurable.
Funeral services for Barbara will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 11, 2022, at Laurel Hill Baptist Church with Reverends Shawn Waggoner and Josh Poe officiating. Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. A visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Pallbearers will be Kevin Edmonson, Jessica Edmonson, Jennifer Edmonson, Hunter Millien, Hayden Millien, and Allen Hall.
