Obituary for Audrey Wilcox
Audrey Arlene (Quade) Hagemeister Wilcox, passed away December 29, 2018 at 7:46 AM at the age of 82, at Many Healthcare in Many, Louisiana. She had multiple health issues and far exceeded all of the physicians’ expectations for her life span. She was a very strong woman, who always did everything her own way, and surprised many with her perseverance throughout her life. She is survived by her 5 children, Ralph, Ray, Larry, Leone and Darla, 11 grand-children and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Larry Hagemeister and her second husband, Richard “Doc†Wilcox. Per her wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial service; she always hated the way people behaved at them and she thought they were a horrible and morbid custom. She chose to be cremated and have her ashes buried next to her first husband, Larry Hagemeister, in the cemetery in Lum, Michigan. She also requested any remembrances of her to be directed to either the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
My family and I wish to thank everyone in advance for all of your thoughts and prayers. We would also like to thank the entire staff at Byrd Regional Hospital and the multiple physicians there who participated in her care over the last 11 years, the staff of Many Healthcare, where she was a resident for the past two years, and her primary care providers; Dr. Gregory Founds, and Gretchen Wilkerson, FNP. We are grateful for all of you and the role you played in Mom’s life.
