Obituary for Angela "Angel" Kay Godwin
Funeral services for Angela “Angel” Kay Godwin will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 8, 2021, at Jeane’s Funeral Service, 100 E. Union St. Leesville, LA with Reverend Tommy Kiker officiating. Burial will follow in Castor Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. A visitation will be held at Jeane’s on Wednesday from 9:30 until the time of service.
Angel was born August 15, 1961, in Fort Rucker, Alabama and passed away December 6, 2021, in Leesville, Louisiana at the age of 60. For some she was a daughter and to some a sister then Mom and Mimi. But even bigger than that, she was a friend. Angel loved some of these friends like family.
Angel was preceded in death by her grandmother, Elizabeth Dowden; brother, Pete Godwin; and sister, Jessica Godwin.
Those left to cherish her memory are her parents, Connie and Dennis Patrick Altenburger;
daughters, Alicia Ferrell and Candace McElhiney;
precious grandchildren, Mason, Shaylie, Logan, Bransyn, Jakelynn, Drake, Elizabeth, and Abigail;
sisters, Diana Bergman & husband John and Dennise Bigham & husband Rick;
brothers, Mike Godwin and Patrick Altenburger & wife Mary;
extended family in Alabama: father, Dudley Godwin; brothers, Clint and Mason Godwin; and sister, Tracie Godwin;
and numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Mike Godwin, Patrick Altenburger, Rick Bigham, Jason Nolf, Dave Vasquez, and Mark Moore. Honorary pallbearers will be Caleb Godwin and John Bergman.
