Obituary for Alvin Rickey Welch
Funeral services for Alvin Rickey Welch will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at Good Hope Baptist Church with Reverends Wesley Jackson and Edwin McCullough officiating. Burial will follow in Good Hope Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. A visitation will be held at the church on Monday, August 30th from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Alvin was born December 2, 1952, in DeRidder, LA and unexpectedly passed away on August 26, 2021, in Anacoco, LA at the age of 68. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making his family laugh. Alvin enjoyed being outdoors hunting, fishing, and riding his side-by-side through the woods. Most of all, he loved all his family and friends and would spend as much time as possible with them. He was a loving husband, a dear daddy and Pappy, as well as an uncle, brother, and friend.
Alvin was preceded in death by his daughter, Angela “Angie” Welch; parents, Jessie and Goldie Welch; in-laws, Beatrice Lofton and Harry Orin Knowlton; sister, Avis Joyce Welch; and brothers, Raymond Welch, Linell Welch, and Johnny Welch.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 46 years, June Welch;
son, Alvin Ray Welch and wife Stephanie;
daughters, Avis Faye Ginn and Sandra Kaye Welch;
grandchildren, Micheal & Summer Guinn, Jacob Ginn, Rebeca Ginn, Hunter & Courtney Salyer, Ethan Welch, Kaylee, Joshua, & Kolton Welch, and Michael, David, & Makayla Meshell;
great grandchildren, Marie Peckett, Billy Peckett Jr., Patrick Peckett, and Paisley Borders;
brothers, Ralph Welch and Jeane Welch;
and a host of extended family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Micheal Ginn, Jacob Ginn, Chad Anderson, Gary Welch, Paul Maineville, and Kevin Leggett.
