Obituary for Michael David McGlothlin
Funeral services for Michael David McGlothlin, 65, of Leesville, LA, will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2020 at 10:30 AM at Union Grove (Wales) Cemetery in Simpson, LA, under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service.
Visitation will be held from 9:30AM until time of service.
Michael, the son of Jackson Willis and Carolyn Clovis McGlothlin was born March 26, 1955, in Zwolle, LA. He passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. Michael was loved by everyone who knew him. He had the calmest demeanor and was the most laid back genuine person you would ever meet. Michael loved his wife Tammy and was her partner for 37 years. He dearly loved his six sons and one daughter - David, Wade, Craig, Rodney, Chance, Carolyn, and Eric. His grandchildren were the apple of his eye, Lacie, Brittany, Logan, Brenden, and Kayla Sky. He was an active member of the American Legion Riders Post 145, Leesville and past Road Captain. He was also a member of the Patriot Riders.
Michael served in the military from 1974 to 1977 11 Bravo at Fort Polk, LA as a rifle specialist. Michael was a union journeyman painter. He sandblasted and painted for 40 plus years. He also loved to ride his Harley and attend rallies. Michael was an avid camper. He loved the lake and spending time with family and friends. Michael was a scuba driver and loved to fly fish. He loved to ride his four wheeler and loved to canoe. Every year his family and friends had an annual canoe trip. Michael always wore his white tennis shoes and never got them wet.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Jackie, Jackson, and Ricky Scott and one sister, Debra.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Tammy Bliss McGlothlin,
sons, David McGlothlin, Jeremy Wade McGlothlin and wife Brenda, Michael Craig McGlothlin, Rodney Lance McGlothlin, Eric Wayne Fisher and wife April, and Quenton Chance McGlothlin,
daughter, Carolyn Ann McGlothlin and partner Clifford Brannon Jeane,
sisters, Sheila Scanlon and husband Pete, Lori McGlothlin, Michele Zman and husband Doug,
brothers, Jerry Allen McGlothlin and wife Rhonda Stephen Boyd McGlothlin, and wife Grace,
and grandchildren, Lacie, Brittany, Logan, Brenden,and Kayla Sky.
Michael never judged anyone and never spoke foul of anyone. He was loved by all and will be deeply missed by everyone.
