Obituary for Lois Roberta Robinson
Funeral services for Lois Roberta Lewis Robinson will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at Lone Star Baptist Church in Hineston, Louisiana with Reverends Oliver Deen, Jeffrey Scroggins, and Sonny Murphy officiating. Burial will follow in Lone Star Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. A visitation will be held at the church beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 18th and will continue until the time of service on Wednesday.
Lois was born June 5, 1930 in Gardner, LA and passed away February 16, 2020 in Alexandria, LA at the age of 89. She was a resident of the Glenmora area all of her life and a lifelong member of Lone Star Baptist Church. Lois served her church faithfully for many years wherever she was needed including as treasure, Sunday School teacher, and as an active member of the Food Bank. Lois loved to serve the Lord and her family. She was an excellent homemaker and enjoyed baking, cooking, and working in her flower beds. Her family fondly remembers that Lois had a plain cake ready to eat at all times. She kept a spotless home and was always ready for visitors. Her giving spirit led her to care for her friends as well as her family.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband of almost 73 years, Oscar Lee Robinson; parents, Wilburn Lewis and Elizabeth “Lizzie” Leavines Lewis; infant son, Timothy Wilburn Robinson; brothers, Sonny, Rodney, Larry and David Lewis; and sisters, Helen Robinson and Bernice Feazell.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Jamey L. Robinson (Lanelwyn) of Hineston, LA,
daughters, Phyllis Crooks (J.D.) of Hineston, LA and Cathy Carter (Kevin) of Glenmora, LA
sister, Naomi Sharbono of Gardner, LA
grandchildren, Ashlee Crooks Hewitt, Justin Robinson, Jeffery Merritt (Elisabeth), Carrie Merritt, Alisha Setliff (Paul), Emily Richard (Michael), and D’Wain Rollins (Misty),
great grandchildren, Jacie Haydel, Cheyanne Crane, Logan Merritt, Luke Robinson, A.J. Hewitt, Daniel and Natalie Setliff, J.W. Hallie, Paisley Rollins, and Aubrey, Harper, and Benson Richard,
and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Pallbearers will be Justin Robinson, Jeffrey Merritt, D’Wain Rollins, Logan Merritt, Luke Robinson, A.J. Hewitt, Daniel Setliff, and J.W. Rollins.
Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Robinson and Mike Robinson.
