Funeral services for Patsy Jean Mills Leach will be held at 11:00 on Thursday, January 25, 2018, at Hornbeck First Baptist Church with Jeff Johnson and Reverends Wayne Chance and Jack Bell officiating. Burial will follow in Beckham Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24th at Hornbeck First Baptist and will resume from 8:00 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday.
Mrs. Leach was born on April 17, 1929, in Pampa, TX and passed away on January 22, 2018, in Leesville, LA at the age of 88. After her parents moved to Pasadena, TX, she met the love of her life, Elmo “Buddy” Leach and moved to Beaumont, TX. For many years she worked as a telephone operator and then in a doctor’s office. After becoming a mother, she devoted her life to her family. Mrs. Leach was a member of Hornbeck First Baptist Church where she was active as a church volunteer. Patsy Jean had a love for the outdoors with her animals and flowers. You would find her feeding hundreds of hummingbirds yearly along with the squirrels and birds. She loved watching her ducks and loving on her dogs and cows. Let us not forget either that killing her doves was not allowed as her grandson Garrett found out very quickly. She had a great love for God’s creation and everyone she met. She will be remembered for her loving, sweet spirit and contagious smile.
Mrs. Leach was preceded in death by her husband, Elmo Clarence “Buddy” Leach; son, Edward Clarence Leach; parents, Ed F. and Helen Louise Mills; and sisters, Edna L. Farmer and Joyce Connally.
Left to cherish her memory are her grandsons: Garrett Wayne Leach and wife Teagan of Houston, TX and Luke Taylor Leach of Winnie, TX
Nieces: Susan Dotson and husband Johnny of Pearland, TX and their children, Scott and Bryan; Lynette Franks and husband George of Bedford, TX and their children, Christopher and Andrew; and Kay Connally McCue of Dallas, TX
Nephew: William Farmer and wife Beverly of League City, TX
Close family friends: David Galaspie, Kathy Hooper, and Sabrina Galaspie
and a host of extended family.
Pallbearers will be David Galaspie, Craig Leach, Paul Sonnier, Bill Kemp, Rodney Cole, and Garry Fields.
Honorary pallbearers will be Scooter Sonnier, Garrett Leach, and Luke Leach.
The family of Mrs. Leach would like to thank the staff of The Woodlands and Dr. Gregory Lord for their excellent care.
