Obituary for Charles C. Wise
Funeral services for Charles C. Wise will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 16, 2017, at Simpson Baptist Church with Reverends Roger George and Silas Cross officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Island Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2017, at Simpson Baptist Church.
Charles C. Wise was born on December 28, 1928, to Willie and Edna House Wise in Mora, Louisiana. He passed away at his home on June 13, 2017, at the age of 88. Charles graduated from Boyce High School and joined the U.S. Navy. After serving for 3 years in the Navy, he returned home and married the love of his life, Bonnie V. Jackson, in 1950. Charles attended McNeese State University and Louisiana State University. After becoming a Professional Land Surveyor and Forestry Tech, he and Bonnie owned and operated the Wise Land Surveying Office for 30 years. Charles was one of the founding fathers of the village of Simpson and a member of the Louisiana Forestry Association. He was a simple man who loved the outdoors; hunting, fishing, and his animals.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie, his parents, and brother, Ray Wise.
Charles is survived by:
Sons: Charles T. Wise and wife Linda of Leesville and Darrell Wise and wife Susan of Simpson
Sisters: Ruby Lee Danzy, Eunice White, Joyce Cosper and husband Hoover, and Doylene Mayeaux and husband Sonny.
Brother: Winston Wise and wife Nora
Grandchildren: Derrick Wise (Alison), Heather Wise Parker (Bubba), Mathew Wise, and Chelsey Wise Johnson (James)
Great-grandchildren: Cale Parker, Colton Parker, Coby Parker, Tristan Johnson, and Taryn Johnson
Pallbearers will be Cale Parker, James Johnson, Brent Wise, Russell Danzy, Billy Taylor, Paul Kerry, Keith Martin, and Jesse Bolton.
Honorary pallbearers will be Colton Parker, Coby Parker, Tristan Johnson, Derrick Wise, and Mathew Wise.
